Recently a good friend of mine asked me to suggest a few possible layouts for his home theater that they recently finished and needed to furnish. All I really had to work with were the dimensions of the room which measured 13' 10" wide by 16' 10" deep. When I sat down to draw this home theater, using nothing but Sacs and Sactionals from LoveSac, I realized that I could have literally kept drawing them all day....there is actually no end to what can be done, just with a few pieces...which is really cool, but at the same time, can actually be a little overwhelming.
How many pieces to buy? Which size? 5 Series Sactionals or 6 Series Sactionals? Which sizes of Sacs to use?....and the biggest question of all: Which covers to use???
So I figured I would share with y'all a few of the various LoveSac Home Theater Layouts that I came up with for this particular situation. It is not a huge room, and I drew these birds-eye-view layouts with the idea of maximizing seating in the space at hand.
Maybe one or two might be relevant to you, in your home...or maybe just bits or pieces of one of the drawings. Pay little attention to the covers/colors shown here, other than to note, that the best way to tie your Sacs in to your Sactionals sofa (or even your own sofa) is by using Throw Pillows to match the Sacs on your sofas
.
A few other general tips as taken from some of these Home Theater layout suggestions: Use Sacs down in front. Not only are they lower than sofas, making them easy to see over from behind, but when backed up in front of a sofa, they can sometimes make great foot rests for the people behind them. One piece of advice on choosing which Sac to go with: Like so many things in life, the bigger, the better. Go with the largest Sac(s) you can fit, but do make sure they actually fit. Nothing is more annoying than tripping over your furniture in a room that is just too small to fit them.
Make sure to make the room functional.
You'll notice that in most of these drawings I show a "buffet" near the rear of the room. This "buffet" is meant to be a piece of furniture, similar in size to a dresser, that is meant to hold plates, cups, bowls, and snacks. It gives you a surface to pour drinks on, place food on, and possibly even hold remote controls and other items that might otherwise just float around the room creating clutter.
Identify what you want from the room. Do you want to seat as many people as possible? Do you host large movie nights or parties and events? Or, would you rather it just be as comfortable as possible for you and your family.
In the first three drawings are shown Movie Loungers and Party Loungers. These extremely deep pieces of furniture are AWESOME for pure comfort, and they are truly a unique option that Sactionals offer you as home theater furniture. But, Loungers take up a lot of room and can only seat one or two couples. On the other hand, the last three layouts shown here have either gigantic sectionals shown, or row-seating, both of which are great options to max out the space and seat the most people. The drawings shown here are really just a FEW of the dozens of options possible in this small space using Sacs and Sactionals by LoveSac. Configurations are endless, and all of these options can actually be overwhelming.
Don't forget though: EVERYTHING is changeable.
Covers may be changed, mixed, and matched forever, and Sactionals may be re-configured as often as needed to change things up or adjust to your changing needs. No matter what layout you go with, in the end, you're never stuck with it....so just get a few pieces and get started. That's what this last video that I'll leave you with is about. It is an AWESOME 90 second video made by Jeremy, one of our top store managers, that will show you clearly how to get started with Sactionals. Check it out...
