So, not that its any of your business, but my first son will be born some time in June!!! We have yet to choose a name. Our 2-year-old daughter, Lucky Nelson, can't wait to have a little brother to show who's boss. With a sister like Lucky the naming bar is set pretty high so we need all of the ideas we can get.
PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR NAME IDEAS BY COMMENTING HERE ON MY BLOG (CLICK HERE)....wether we use your name or not, we will send our top 3 picks your choice of a Nooder blanket-dog or a LoveSac FootSac Blanket.
As this kid undoubtedly be heir to my (eventual) home furnishings empire, dominating TV rooms worldwide, he he's gotta have a strong name; a legendary name; name to live up to, as THIS is the crap little _________ D. Nelson will be fighting against (watch the following video, see if it makes you laugh as hard as it made me laugh--or maybe its just a furniture-guy-thing)....
-- Shawny D., Tiffany, Lucky, and __________
First love is only a little foolishness and a lot of curiosity.Do you think so?

The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for circumstances they want , and if they cannot find them .they make them.Do you understand?

Shawn, i know the contest is over. But I have a consideration for you that hopefully youll think about for a second.
Ulysses.
First off, Ulysses is most commonly remembered as the great general Ulysses S. Grant. Great for it's own reasons. Also means he can hold his liquor. ...ish.
Second, Ulysses is the alternate or translated name for Oddysseus. The epic tale by Homer[not the simpsons. haha] about a king who used his wit, resourcefullness and endurance to capture Troy. Useful in case of a hostile takeover, no?
Thirdly, you said you wanted a name that would not be easily forgotten and he certainly would not be confused with Ulysses from down the street. But at the same time, Ulysses is not extremely eccentric. More of a royal or epic name.
Fitting I think since he'll be your successor, and hopefully you expect him to be more than great, to be legendary.

It totally needs to be Rion D. Nelson. Its an Irish name that means kingly!!! Nothing could be better than having a name that means king. Another awesome name would be Caden, it mean spirit of battle in welsh.

Hey Shawny D... Congrats on the new addition!
How about "Legacy" or "Legend"?! Both are strong names and as far as having a legendary name... it speaks for itself.
Legacy - A legacy is what someone or something is remembered for or what they have left behind that is remembered, revered or has impacted current events and the present day.
Legend - A legend (Latin, legenda, "things to be read") is a narrative of human actions that are perceived both by teller and listeners to take place within human history and to possess certain qualities that give the tale verisimilitude.
Happy name hunting!

How about BERKELEY D. NELSON. Ends in a 'y', famous philosopher, great University, kind of off-beat... CORMAC D. NELSON is fun too if y' all have any Irish ancestry. Can't wait to see what you really choose though...

You can't name him Damien, that's from that movie where the kid is the devil! Alex and my vote is for Young or Smith. Or you can just be TOTALLY cool by being TOTALLY ordinary and blow everyone away. John D. Nelson since John is the hebrew (original) version of Sean/Shawn/Shaun.

Looking at this from a marketing standpoint I think it's a best bet that you should name your boy Sonny. Think about this..
1) Seeing as we have ShawnY, TiffinaY, and LuckY, for consistency's sake, it's pretty imperative to have your son's name end with Y!
2) Seeing as he's your first born son and eventual heir to your empire, Sonny would be perfect! Anybody ever see a lil' movie called The Godfather?? (and you'll know he'll be protective of his sister!)
3) There would be nothing cooler on this planet than having the name Sonny D!!! Kiss my butt soda and purple stuff!!!
I rest my case :)

Mandela Nelson. Nice.

I think the best name choice would be "Charm" (Lucky Charm) or "Chance" (Lucky Chance). It would fit great with Lucky and it's pretty awesome, I think.
