So on my final leg of my 2009 Front Line all-store training tour I stopped back through Salt Lake City and wrapped in Georgia. At the original store in the Gateway Mall in SLC (shown left) I was up on the ladder minding my own business, changing light bulbs when members of two competetive high school choirs coincidentally converged on the LoveSac store to get out of the cold. Chaos ensued. I was worried there would be blood....there was. Definately worth watching all the way through. Hard to believe how quickly choir kids can get out of hand:
Wait until you see this crew from Atlanta's store video. Let's just say they know how to ride the Sac. And I mean that in the most literal, innocent, southern-hick-of-a-way as possible. (LoveSac Lenox, right. LoveSac Mall of Georgia, left...on the SuperSac they mastered riding)
GO BUY A LOVESAC! It's the gift that gets bigger, and bigger, and bigger.
Just arrived in Prescott, Arizona for the Prescott Rally. I get adrenalized just thinking of driving rally...easily the wildest thing I've ever done. 12 hour drive down here. Not at all glamorous and we have a problem - possible spun bearing in the motor. Don't know how long it will last. BUT I race Friday afternoon (night driving!) and Saturday. Follow the results of each stage (8 stage, 100+ mile race, 4 stages per day) at this link:
The LoveSac Rally Racing Team made its debut at the Idaho Rally this weekend. We ALL entered the race knowing really only two things about Rally: Go fast & stay on the road. Being that it was my first rally, my co-driver's first rally, and even my mechanic's first rally, I decided to make the pilgrimage first to my buddy, owner of LoveSac furniture, America's top Rally Car Driver & X-Games Gold Medalist, Travis Pastrana, for some Rally car tips at his house in Maryland over the 4th of July. Unfortunately, between craning him out of his foam pit as he practiced his sick trick for the X-Games, and getting cold-cocked by some rugby player that night in the chaos that follows fireworks & partying, all I could out of Pastrana was: "Go fast & stay on the road." Well Trav, as my wife would tell you, I seem to listen to about half of anything.....we went fast, anyway.
Hopefully the 2 videos below do a good job of explaining how the LoveSac Rally Fiero got upside down, into that river. For any of you considering a career in Rally Car Racing I figured I would make this video in a way that would hopefully give you a glimpse into what the whole 2 day event is really like...as my YouTube Rally research only showed me a bunch of wrecks and some insane driving. There is so much more to rally it than that. Tell me what you think, please COMMENT. Check em out (stay tuned for the jump, crash, & slideshow at the end of day #2 video)...
A HUGE thanks to our sponsors: Action Auto in SLC (who prepped my car and now has to put it back together), Spoon Me Frozen Yogurt, Franchise Foundry, Caballo Negro Energy Drink (which our rally car practically runs on), Team DI for the sick fire-suits and gloves, Loomis Solar (WOW did those helmets and the WATERPROOF dash-cam ever come in handy), and of course LoveSac Alternative Furniture Co....who pays my life insurance, etc.
Not to mention a BIG THANKS to: Ryan Money, my co-driver for life, you are AMAZING dude...oh, and you saved my life. Bill Talbot (Dirty Billy) who can fix anything on wheels. Jeremy Back, who thought he was going on vacation only to find out that Rally is a team sport. Joe Loomis & Jenna who always just show up and help out (not to mention hooked up our Rally suits in entirety). My parents, who came, volunteered, blocked the trail to vehicles for 12 hours and who STILL hate the idea of this whole thing. My partners, Nancy, Ryan, and the rest of LoveSac HQ for tolerating me. And most importantly the women in my life, Tiffany & Lucky Anne...THE coolest chicks on the planet.
From Park City & Sundance Film Fest last week to Aspen this week, the Sac crew has gone Rocky Mountain High, arriving in SnowMass, Colorado for Winter X Games, 2009. We've teamed up with ESPN and the local Aspen radio station, KSPN to create the "LoveSac Radio X Lounge," for X Game attendees to hang out, listen to some tunes, and warm up! I'll be hittin' it up live, on the air on KSPN throughout the day--especially as we prepare for the Sac Riding Races (see videos below). Listen to KSPN online, broadcasting LIVE from the X Games, and the LoveSac Radio X Lounge: http://radiotime.com/station/s_42048/KSPN-FM_983.aspx. In fact, TEXT: "XGames" to number: 32075 from your mobile phone and WIN 4 TICKETS to the X-Games VIP seating this weekend, as well as a LoveSac SUPERSAC, VALUE OF $600+. CONTEST!!! TEXT TO WIN!!!!
Check out the videos and pics below, showing the entire Aspen scene as we roll in on the LoveSac Bus, and then as we prepare for typical LoveSac mayhem....from the first trial of Sac Riding (ouch) to Team LoveSac owning the X-Fest Snow Skate competition...
CHECK OUT THE LOVESAC RADIO X LOUNGE (video above)
Benny, Team LoveSac, tears it up at the X-Fest Snow-Skate park. This is a weird sport. Skate deck with 4 little skis on the bottom. I'm actually dying to get a hold of one of these for future dragging-behind-the-car runs. This thing would be perfect. Albeit, an almost sure way to break an arm (at 45 mph).
SNOW SKATING (ABOVE) SAC RIDING (BELOW)....
MY CUTE WIFE, TIFFANY (RIGHT) CHOSE TO RIDE THE MOTO-X SLED...NOT THE SAC.
CHECK OUT THE WHOLE SCENE, VIEW FROM THE ROAD OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD OF THE LOVESAC BUS. GIVE YOU A GOOD IDEA OF JUST HOW BIG A PRODUCTION THE X GAMES IS EACH YEAR. MY BOYS MURPH AND KYLE TAKE OVER THE TOWN EVERY YEAR. IT'S AWESOME TO BE HERE SPREADIN' THE LOVE.
